Google to Stop Unlimited WhatsApp Backup Offer Soon

Google is planning to offer a free limited storage plan for WhatsApp chat backup on Google Drive in the future. Yes, you heard it right! Google will offer a limited storage plan for WhatsApp chat backup in the future. The paid plans are not revealed yet, but they are working on it and soon you will be asked to pay for additional storage.

If you are an Android user, you must have an idea that there is no limit for WhatsApp chat backup on Google drive. The bad news is that you will not be entertained for free in the future as Google is planning to limit WhatsApp chat backup on Google drive soon. 

According to WABetaInfo (A famous news portal for WhatsApp updates)

WhatsApp backups will count against your Google Drive storage quota again, but Google is planning to offer a free limited plan in the future.

 

According to this screenshot shared by WABetaInfo (can be seen below), Google and WhatsApp both are planning to stop unlimited WhatsApp chat backup plan and upon reaching a limit, the user will be notified through a notification regarding the storage reach limit and will ask the user to pay for the additional storage. Please note that the unlimited WhatsApp chat backup storage plan for free is still there and the new implementations didn’t apply yet but keep in mind that Google is planning for a limited storage plan in the future.

This is not surprising news as Google already stopped offering unlimited storage for Google Photos last year. Now, the next turn is to stop the unlimited storage plans for WhatsApp chat backups and you will be asked to pay for additional storage for your chat’s backup.
