Here is How to Get M-Tag for Motorways

To reduce waiting time at Toll Plazas, The National Highways & Motorway Police Pakistan has made it mandatory to install M-Tag on your respective vehicles for all those who are willing to travel using Motorways. The initiative was taken in directives of the Lahore High Court orders.

This initiative will not only reduce waiting time at Toll Plazas but will also digitize the payment system where you will no need to pay in cash and stop at toll plazas for the payment. In this blog post, we will explain in very detail how to get M Tag for your vehicles.

Requirements & How to Get M-Tag Registration:

According to the latest and official updates, you will only need to bring your original CNIC, vehicle & Registration Book to get M-Tag. (Please note that Registration Book is not mandatory for now but your vehicle presence is mandatory for that).
Valid Mobile Number to get notified regarding recharge, balance, traveling, etc.
Visit your nearest motorway toll plaza or the following m-tag registration centers in Islamabad.

McDonald’s Parking, F-9 Park, Islamabad, Timings 1400-1700 Hrs (2.00 PM to 5.00 PM)
McDonald’s Parking, Round about, DHA Phase 2, Islamabad, Timings 1800-2000 Hrs (6.00 PM to 8.00 PM)
Gate No. 5, Opposite F-8 Markaz

M-Tag Registration Charges:

The National Highways & Motorway Police are not charging any amount for M-Tag registration and it’s free of cost. While you will only be charged in order to travel on the Motorways.

How to Recharge M-Tag:

There are several options/ways to recharge your M-Tag balance. Such multiple smart recharge options are available throughout the country in the following manners:

Scratch Card Recharge – You can get scratch cards of multi amounts like Rs. 200, 500, 1000, 2000, 3000, and 5000 from the drive through (Motorway’s entry & exit points.)
